Dr. Emma Murtagh MB BCh BAO MRCGP (merit), Dip. Practical Dermatology (Cardiff), DFSRH, DGM, DRCOG Emma studied Medicine at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating in 2002. She worked in Altnagelvin Area Hospital and Antrim Hospital before undertaking GP training. She qualified as a GP in 2008. Emma currently works as a GP in the Belfast area, and she has a special interest in Dermatology and Facial Rejuvenation. Emma has undertaken specialist training in Cosmetic Medicine.

Dr. Mark Holloway MB ChB MRCGP PG Dip Ophth Mark studied Medicine at the University of Aberdeen, and graduated in 1999. He worked in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for six years, and qualified as a GP in July 2006. He is a GP partner in Money more Medical Centre. He also works 3 days per week in the eye clinics of Mid Ulster Hospital, Magherafelt and Tyrone County Hospital, Omagh where he is a GP with a Special Interest in Ophthalmology. In addition, he has a special interest in the field of facial rejuvenation and medical aesthetics.

Wrinkle Reducing Injections (BOTOX) Botox (the trade name for purified and very dilute Botulinum Toxin A) has been safely used for over 30 years. It is injected, via a tiny needle, into the muscles of the forehead, frown or crow’s feet. This temporarily relaxes the muscle, and smoothes the skin overlying this muscle, which in turn prevents wrinkles from forming. The effects are visible 10-14 days after treatment, and usually last for 3-4 months.

Dermal Fillers (Juvederm Ultra) the Dermal Fillers used in the Sperrin Clinic are made from Hyaluronic acid which is a substance present in most human tissues. They are injected into the skin, and are very effective at temporarily removing wrinkles and lines as well as plumping out lips. Smoker’s Lines, Naso-labial lines (between nose and lips) and marionette lines (lines coming downward from the bottom lip towards the chin) are very effectively treated with Dermal Fillers. The effects of modern Dermal Fillers are immediate and usually last 6-9 months.

We are pleased to now offer cheek enhancement, and excessive underarm sweating (Hyperhidrosis) we offer treatment for this distressing condition using Botox injections to the underarm area.
