The Cathedral Eye Clinic opened in Belfast in March 2008. It is one of the first organisations to be based in the business units of the newly refurbished York street campus of the University of Ulster. For example, Professor Johnny Moore specializes in treating difficult corneal and anterior segment problems using the most up-to-date laser platforms and intraocular lens technologies available in the world today. New treatments for the management of keratoconus, such as automated mechanical or laser lamellar surgery and Intacs, are also available.
