Mount Vernon Dental Specialists was founded by Dr Sheila Diamond who qualified at Queens University, Belfast in 1975. During the next 15 years of extensive experience in dental practice in London, she developed a keen interest in Periodontics (gum disease treatments), a branch of dentistry which had been neglected in the UK in comparison to the USA.
In 1995 she undertook specialist training and obtained her Specialist qualification in Periodontics at the renowned Eastman Dental Institute in London. Soon after, Sheila established her Private Periodontal practice in Northwood and, in February 2004, moved the practice to its new facilities at Mount Vernon.
