Endolaser is a new innovative laser treatment which treats problematic areas of the body affected by varicose veins.

This procedure is performed through a puncture where a laser fibre is inserted inside the saphenous vein along the entire length of its affected segment or along close varicose veins. After inserting the fibre, occlusion is performed by laser thermal shock leading to a subsequent process of fibrosis, reabsorption, and disappearance of the affected veins.

The Endolaser is approved by the U.S. FDA (which oversees all matters relating to health in the U.S.) as a minimally invasive technique to treat varicose veins. The operation is performed under direct vision, real-time Doppler ultrasound, which allows direct control of the action of the laser fibre inside the saphenous vein. This procedure avoids problems with hematomas, wound infection, etc. which usually occurs with other commonly practiced surgery for varicose veins.

Without cutting the skin, this treatment provides many advantages over the conventional technique used:

•    Outpatient surgery is used with local anesthetic: indeed, this is one of its main advantages, the prospect of performing surgery on an outpatient basis without taking up hospital wards as well as the use of general anesthetic, and/or an epidural.

•    Quick intervention that takes less than an hour.

•    Minimally invasive (minimal trauma): no need to make cuts in the skin as it is done percutaneously, and once the treatment is finished the patient can walk home.

•    Excellent clinical and aesthetic results: proving to be 95% more efficient than conventional surgery.

Conclusion: that today a total innovative and alternative treatment for varicose veins is available to us, therefore ENDOLASER is the future.
